心脏手术过程海外直播
我国医生向西班牙万名国际医疗人员示范新科技 （早报，23 May 2009)
     我国的心脏外科技术受到国际医疗界肯定，国家心脏中心昨天直播三场心血管气囊疏通手术，向远在西班牙巴塞罗那的1万名国际医疗人员展示手术新科技和技能。

　　观看手术的观众，都是在巴塞罗那出席知名欧洲医疗会议——欧洲巴黎血运重建课程（EuroPCR）。国家心脏中心昨天下午为三名患有多血管疾病或左主冠状动脉疾病的病人进行心血管气囊疏通手术（Percutaneous　coronary intervention或简称PCI），并把部分手术过程直播到欧洲医疗会议现场。

　　这也是国家心脏中心首次有这么多名观众，观看他们的现场直播手术。

Asia's first heart-liver transplant (The Straits Times, 25 April 2009)

A rare genetic disorder left retired pastor Lau Chin Kwee facing certain death. His best option, a rare double transplant, was risky. Yet the 58-year-old, married to Madam Lim Foong Ngee (right) and father of (from left) Tabitha, Given and Paul, went ahead. Given is just six and he wanted to see him grow up, Mr Lau said of why he agreed to a 12hr 20min operation that made medical history. It is Asia's first heart-liver transplant, say doctors from the Singapore General Hospital and the National Heart Centre.

亚洲首起心肝综合移植手术 （早报， 25 April 2009)
国家心脏中心和新加坡中央医院连同召开记者会，宣布进行亚洲首个成功心肝综合移植手术。整个移植手术及手术前后的工作，有多达50名医疗人员参与，由国家心脏中心的心肺移植组和中央医院的肝脏移植服务组领导。

全国心脏中心引进新技术，更换主动脉瓣膜免开胸 （早报， 23 April 2009)
全国心脏中心成为亚洲首个引进经皮主动脉瓣膜置换（Percutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement，简称PAVR）的医疗中心，在 2009年2月9日，成功为一名77 岁男子进行这项新手术。

New procedure to replace aortic valve (The Straits Times, 23 April 2009)
Open heart surgery is usually performed when the valve in the artery leading from the heart needs replacing, but this is not an option for some patients.

The National Heart Centre Singapore was the first in Asia to introduce the Percutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement in February 2009, a less invasive procedure for this minority of patients, who may have had chest surgery previously or have heart or other conditions, that make cutting open the chest dangerous.
